Student Life Adobe Hackathon, 15 – 27 October 2024

Are you ready to tackle the Student Life Adobe hackathon? We have three challenges for you to get your creative juices flowing.

Challenge one - Digital Art Challenge
This is for those creative individuals out there - start date 15 October, end date 27 October:

Express through the creation of a digital image your personal sustainability goals / manifesto at Teesside University as a student (individual challenge)
Task
1. Create a digital artwork Adobe Express / Adobe Firefly
2. Express your personal sustainability goals as a student at Teesside University and as part of your student life journey and create this as a digital image
3. Share your learning with an accompanying brief detailing the AI prompts you have used to produce the final digital image (no more than 200 words – can be created in Adobe Express and can include images / links)

Challenge two - Video Storytelling Challenge
This is for a small team of up to four students - start date 15 October, end date 27 October:

Express your top 5 tips / hacks for supporting new students on campus to help them settle in at Teesside University (group challenge)
Task
1. Create a short video (1 minute) using Adobe Express / Adobe Rush
2. Express your top 5 tips / hacks for new students on campus – things that you wish you had known when you started at University
3. You could consider favourite or best places to study, places to meet friends, places to work together as a group for example.
4. You can consider using original footage or use Adobe Express to manipulate content.

Challenge three - AI Challenge
This is for a small team of up to four students - start date 15 October, end date 27 October:

Express what you think are the good things and the bad things about using AI as part of your study experience / student journey (group challenge)
Task
1. Create a poster using Adobe Express
2. Express what AI tools you have used that you think are “good” things to use that support your study experience if used credibly and sensibly and why they fall into the “good” category
3. Express what AI tools you should avoid using because you think they are “bad” things that should not be used as part of your study experience and why they fall into the “bad” category
4. Share your learning with an accompanying brief detailing what you think are the limitations of using AI and why (no more than 200 words – can be created in Adobe Express and can include images / links)
