What do you most enjoy about your role at Teesside University London?

Providing guidance, advice and signposting to students regarding their academic and welfare queries. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be a resource for students, helping them navigate challenges and access the support they need. I love seeing how my assistance can make a positive impact on their university experience, whether it’s helping them with study strategies or connecting them to professional support services.

This aspect of my role also allows me to build meaningful relationships with students, fostering a sense of community and support. Each interaction is an opportunity to learn and grow alongside them, which keeps me engaged and motivated in my work.

How does your role benefit and support students?

My role is significant in enhancing student experience both on and off-campus. My job ensures students have easy access to vital information, which is crucial for navigating their academic journeys effectively. I also contribute to maintaining health and safety operations ensuring a secure campus environment for everyone, and co-ordinate administrative functions. This support is essential, as it addresses needs promptly so students feel heard and valued.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Receiving the Team Player Award for my contributions in a previous role, where I significantly improved our student support services. I helped facilitate communication among team members, ensured everyone’s ideas were heard and streamlined processes, providing guidance and training for team members where needed. This recognition not only validated my commitment to collaboration but also reinforced the importance of fostering a supportive team environment.
