What do you most enjoy about your role at Teesside University London?
I love raising awareness of the incredible work being produced by our students and the enthusiasm and passion of all the academic and professional service staff here.
How does your role benefit and support students?
My work helps to enhance the visibility and reputation of the University and establishes relationships with local schools, colleges, and businesses. As a result of this, our on-campus community grows larger and our connections with employers and stakeholders become stronger.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Witnessing our first cohort of students graduate, it was a privilege to be a part of their journey from welcoming them to campus on their first day, to celebrating with them and their family on graduation day.
Why should students consider studying at Teesside University London?
We’re in a prime location to study business and technology related degrees, there’s so many exciting developments happening in the companies based here with us, and we’re part of a booming student hub. The students that choose Teesside University London are given the employability skills that we know employers are seeking in recent graduates and they receive a higher number of contact hours with their tutors compared to other institutions.
What is the best piece of advice you have for your students?
If you’re applying to university my advice would be to attend as many open days as you can! I cannot emphasise this enough. Effectively researching your choice in university involves seeing the campus and speaking to the lecturers in person.
For our current students – do a little bit every day. Whether it’s recommended reading, research into your subject area, or planning and working on assignments – smaller consistent efforts lead to significant results.
