Hi, my name is Lee Blackburn, and I'm a Safety and Security Team Leader in Campus Services.
I have a varied role, but my primary responsibilities are to safeguard everyone who visits the university, whether that be our students, colleagues, or stakeholders.
I also ensure that the university is a safe place to work, study and live and to protect the University's assets.

My job is rewarding. I am always meeting new students and helping them to adjust in their new environment and helping to resolve any issues they may experience. My role allows me to continually grow through bespoke training and opportunities to network with other departments and external partners.
I started at the University in December 1997 and have celebrated my 25 years' service.
I am fortunate to work in a brilliant team. The Safety and Security department has a high skill set built from proven experience in the armed forces, emergency services and long-standing security and customer care backgrounds. As a result, everyone shares and contributes to something valuable.
I have always found Teesside University to be a friendly and engaging place to work. The Safety and Security department are always here to help, and the security colleagues enjoy meeting people and providing a warm welcome to new colleagues and students.
