What you study
How you are assessed
You are assessed through a modified objective structured long examination review in week 14, lasting up to 40 minutes (pass/fail component). You review a patient's history and articulate differential diagnoses, then undertake a focused physical examination and request appropriate investigations. You review presented clinical findings and investigation results and interpret them to present a final diagnosis/diagnoses. You are asked questions and are expected to justify your actions and critically articulate your thought-processes regarding the patient's presentation and subsequent management.
You also complete a multiple-choice question exam with 30 questions relating to the taught content. You complete this in week 14 and must achieve a 50% pass mark for this component. The percentage mark for the exam is the overall mark for the module if both components are passed.
