This event is for those who work and/or support young people in care.

This conference brings together key people responsible for shaping the future of young people in care. You can also discuss ways to work together to encourage participation, achievement and progression in education.

9.20am - Hannah Simnett, Connection Counts

Hannah's 'Connection Counts' training explores the influences of adverse childhood experiences and the impact this can have on the brain, body and behaviours. She identifies how trauma can present and how to support others in a trauma responsive way.

10.30am - Workshop one

1.00pm - Steven Russell, Elements SEMH Support

Children in care encounter many adults - teachers, foster carers, social workers and others, making it hard for them to form lasting connections due to disruptions they've experienced. Join Steven on an incredible journey through his childhood in care and professional experiences and discover the key elements that make someone "the one" in a child's life.
