Professor Natasha Vall

Dean

Professor Natasha Vall was appointed Lecturer in History in 2006, conferred as Reader in 2011 and as Professor of urban and cultural history in 2016. Prior to her appointment at Teesside University she was post-doctoral research fellow in the AHRC Centre for North East England History.

Associate Dean (International)

Dr Jonathon Reay joined Teesside University as a Principal Lecturer and Subject Group Leader for Psychology and is currently the Associate Dean (International).

Associate Dean (Enterprise & Knowledge Exchange)

Dr Helen Dudiak completed her Phd within the Psychology department at the University of Central Lancashire investigating the developmental relationship between memory and vocabulary in primary school children.

Acting Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching)

Matthew joined Teesside University in 2018 as Head of Department for Psychology. He is a cognitive psychologist with a background researching spatial and linguistic representations in dialogue.

Dr Sharon Dobson Waters is the Head of Department for Education and Social Work (incorporating the English Language Centre) in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Law.

Dr Victoria Bell

Head of Department (Humanities & Social Sciences)

Victoria's academic background is in rural issues, with her PhD focusing on experiences of living, working and visiting Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site. Her research interests are varied, including qualitative and visual research methods, volunteering, the sociology of tourism, heritage, and space and place.

Angela King

Head of Department (Law, Policing & Investigation)

Angela has been lecturing in law at Teesside since 2003. Her research interests have been influenced by teaching criminal evidence and human rights, developing a particular passion for the right to a fair trial and the exercise of police powers.

School Registrar

James Walker was appointed in November 2019 and is responsible for supporting the Dean in the management of academic and student activities throughout the student journey, and supporting the academic quality assurance of the student learning experience.

Emma Chapman

School Manager

Emma was appointed in October 2022 and is responsible for supporting the Dean in the leadership and management of the School with particular emphasis on strategy, resource management and performance.
