At Teesside University we handle a large volume of data on a day to day basis. This includes personal data about our staff and students, financial information and research information. Teesside University has responded to today’s “Big Data” challenge by putting in place a sound framework for Information Governance which enables and supports the University's objectives, achieves business benefits and minimises risk.
Teesside University's vision is to instil an Information Governance culture in all staff through the provision of training and advice that helps staff understand and apply IG standards and principles throughout the University consistently to all aspects of information. Further information is provided for staff on the University Intranet
Teesside University has a fundamental responsibility to provide oversight and accountability in the area of Information Governance, meeting its legal and regulatory obligations in the areas of Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
