Discover the world of learning

01 May 2003

Forensic Investigation, Disaster Management, Sport and Human Performance, Literature and Leisure and Tourism are just some of the fascinating ‘Discovery’ topics covered in a series of free seminars to be staged at the University of Teesside during Adult Learners Week, which runs from Saturday 10 to Friday 16 May.

The programme has been organised by the University’s Centre for Lifelong Learning in support of National Adult Learners Week. The primary aim of the campaign is to widen access to learning opportunities and encourage adults to return to study.

Tom Taylor, Acting Director of Lifelong Learning at the University of Teesside, said: “We are very proud of our record of encouraging lifelong learning. Adult Learners’ Week provides a window into the University for adults of all ages and an opportunity to sample University life.”

The seminars will be held at various locations on the University campus in Middlesbrough. They are open to potential students aged 18 and over, including those with no previous experience of higher education.

Advice and guidance on all the taster activities will be available each day from the Course Information Centre (CIC), located near the University’s main reception in the Middlesbrough Tower. For further information call the CIC on 01642 384277.
