Public meeting to discuss University expansion

The University of Teesside is expanding its campus with two new buildings adjoining Woodlands Road, Middlesbrough. They are to be called The Institute of Digital Innovation (IDI) and The Centre for Creative Technologies (CCT).

To inform local residents about these buildings, the University is arranging a public meeting on Wednesday 11th January, 2006 at 6.30pm. It will take place in room OL1 of the Europa Building on Woodlands Road (the area of Woodlands Road between Park Lane and Southfield Road). Any questions about the buildings will be answered. A University officer will be on the corner of Woodlands and Southfield Road to assist with directions.

The proposed IDI building will house a four storey research facility for digital research teams and postgraduate students. It will have a gross floor area of approximately 4,000 square metres and be located in the car park of the Gazette Building at the rear of Borough Road.

The proposed CCT building will also be four storeys, used for undergraduate teaching in the areas of arts and media and computing. It will have a gross floor area of approximately 3,750 square metres and located in the University Princeton car park adjoining Woodlands Road.
