Two free public events are to take place at the University of Teesside next week.

On Tuesday 20 February, critically acclaimed theatre company Stellar Quines will present The Unconquered by Torben Betts, as part of a national tour. It will be staged in the University’s Main Hall, Brittan Building, starting at 6pm. The play is free and lasts 90 minutes with no interval. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To reserve a ticket please contact Mark Dooley in the University’s English section, by emailing m.dooley@tees.ac.uk

On the following day, Wednesday 21 February, a free lecture will be delivered as part of the University’s Professorial & Public lecture series. Geoff Muirhead CBE, Chief Executive of the Manchester Airports Group, will talk about ‘Aviation-a people business.’ The lecture will take place in the Centuria Building, Victoria Road, from 6.30pm - 7.45pm. Refreshments are available from 6.00pm.

Geoff will discuss the changing nature of the aviation industry through the eyes of those who work in it. Aviation is a growing, global business with a huge variety of career choices from corporate financiers and ecologists to retailers and town planners. This brings a diverse mix of people working together in one place in one of the most dynamic and interesting sectors of industry. Drawing on 16 years’ experience, Geoff will set out the challenges and opportunities for aviation in the future. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the lecture.
