University building forum for Darlington

08 July 2009

We are inviting the people of Darlington to give their views and ask questions about a proposed new five storey building in the town.

Our plan is for a new building on the Darlington College site at Haughton Road. It will be located on the main playing field south of the college building, with work starting in April 2010 and completed by September 2011.

More details about the building and its proposals will be available in a public engagement forum on Wednesday 15 July at 6.00 pm at Darlington College. All interested members of the public are invited to attend, where any questions will be answered.

Those who cannot make the event but still have questions can e-mail Mark White in Teesside University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Office m.white@tees.ac.uk.

Exciting plans for Darlington Professor Graham Henderson, Teesside University’s Vice-Chancellor, said: 'We are thrilled to be proposing such exciting plans for our development in Darlington. I hope that people are able to come along to learn more about what I am sure will be an excellent addition to the town.'

The completed building will be a high quality, five storey undergraduate and postgraduate teaching facility. It will include associated external landscaping works and car parking spaces and a gross floor area of approximately 4,000 square metres.
