Staff and students star in inspirational TV advert

01 September 2010

Prospective students have been determined to join the University of the Year after being inspired by our TV advertising campaign.

And it’s our very own staff and current students who have helped to highlight Teesside as such an attractive option for undergraduate, postgraduate and part-time study.

Now you can take a behind the scenes look at how the advert was made.

Our eye-catching and vibrant advert has been aired nationally since June and shows viewers a successful and confident institution.

With the theme of inspiring success, the advert was shot on campus and features the University’s staff and current students – many of whom not only appeared in the advert but also helped out with the two day shoot.

Open auditions were held at the University and those who were chosen to take part described it as an amazing and proud experience.

The advert, which has several different versions, has had extremely positive feedback and over 2,200 people have logged on to view it online. Watch our advert in full

Great to promote the University in this way Matt Hudson, who works in Marketing & Student Recruitment at Teesside, said: ‘It has been a great opportunity to do something different and have the chance to promote the University in this way.’

Kevin Eastwood, who is studying BA (Hons) Performance for Live and Recorded Media, added: ‘I think it’s great, I love it. It’s my first TV appearance – I know it’s not big but it will go well for my future and it’s something I can put on my CV.’

Alecia Cotterell, BSc (Hons) Youth Studies, said she was proud to be involved in such an inspirational advert.

She added: ‘I think it’s really important to boost the morale of the town and the area and let young people know they can do anything they put their mind to.’
