Children get a taste for work

26 June 2000

Over 60 children aged 11-15 will experience a range of activities when they come to the University of Teesside on Wednesday 28 June for the annual 'Take our Children to Work Day'. University staff members can bring a child to work for the day, which is open to the following: daughters/sons, sisters/brothers, granddaughters/grandsons, nieces/nephews, god-daughters/godsons, neighbour's or friend's daughter/son.

There will be an opportunity to photograph some of the children on Wednesday 28 June at 10.30am in the Physiology Laboratory, Room C136, First Floor, Constantine Building, University of Teesside.

Janet Waine from the University's Personnel Department said: "The event has been organised to allow girls and boys to mix in the world of work, and demonstrate a wide range of career opportunities. Children will have the chance to visit different Schools and Departments, 'work shadow' their sponsor and experience student life through a range of planned activities."
