Undergraduate fees (UK students)

We can tell you the price of a degree - but that's not the same as its value. You really can't put a price on turning your dream into reality.

2025-26 entry

Full-time tuition fee


Teesside University charges £9,535 a year for full-time undergraduate degree courses, £6,340 a year for a full-time foundation degree, or other qualification below degree level (with the exception of the Cert HE Health Sciences which is £9,535 a year), and £4,635 for an HNC/HND.

Students studying a classroom-based foundation year (business, humanities and social sciences) pay a lower fee of £5,760 a year, and those studying other subjects (computing, creative arts, engineering and science) pay a higher fee of £9,535 a year.

These fees apply to the 2025-26 academic year only and may be subject to inflationary increases in subsequent years of study.

These fees are subject to passing of legislation expected in early 2025. The University may increase fees for subsequent years of study in line with any increases applied by the UK Government to the maximum tuition fee cap. To give you an indication of the likely scale of any future increase, the UK government has recently suggested that future increases to the fee cap may be linked to RPIX (Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments).

Placement year fee waiver


If you study an undergraduate course with a placement year and pay UK fees, you receive a full fee waiver for your placement year.

Integrated master's discount


If you study an integrated master's course (MEng) and pay UK fees, you pay a discounted fee of either £7,710 (standard tier) or £8,365 (enhanced tier) in your final year. The fee is dependent on the fee tier that has been agreed for this course. The fee will be detailed on the relevant course page. UK fee paying students studying MOptom Optometry or MSci Chiropractic, pay £9,535 a year.

Part-time students


Part-time undergraduate courses starting in September 2025 or January 2026 range from £4,020 to £4,758 for 120 credits. You can find fees information for part-time undergraduate courses on each individual course page.

International students


Tuition fees for international students vary. The tuition fee for an international student on a full-time undergraduate degree is £17,000.

For a Higher National Certificate (HNC) you study eight modules at £495 for each module. For the Higher National Diploma (HND) you study a maximum of 16 modules, again at £495 each. You usually pay for one module at a time.

These fees apply to the 2024-25 academic year only and may be subject to inflationary increases in subsequent years of study.

Placement year fee waiver


If you study an undergraduate course with a placement year and pay UK fees, you receive a full fee waiver for your placement year.
