This module explores the organisations that make up the aviation industry, its scale and the diverse nature of airlines and airports and how their varied services serve different markets.

Due to the content and delivery of our Winter University courses, it is advised that applicants are aged 16+ at the time of enrolment. if you are under the age of 16 you must be accompanied at your Winter University classes by a parent or a responsible adult to act in the capacity of a parent (in loco parentis). Your designated adult may need to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

• Airline and Airport revenue streams
• Types of commercial airline
• Operating characteristics
• UK airport characteristics
• General aviation
• Regulator bodies

This course will also include a visit to a local airport.

How you are assessed

Students will write a 1500 individual report through which they will demonstrate an understanding of the UK aviation industry, its scale and operational and departmental functions.

International applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher.
