I was told the course would really suit me, so I applied. I enjoyed product design the most at A-Level. Teesside showed a personal approach to students and teaching with our lecturers’ open door policy, free access to workshops, and a great working environment and facilities.
I really honed my communication skills at University. Presentations, helping out at open days, and being a student ambassador and class representative gave me the experience and confidence to talk in front of people. Also, the structure of my degree projects was something I constantly refer to in my career.
I found the most enjoyment in meeting and spending time with new friends in the design studio, working long hours but also making memories. The careers service helped me improve my CV and made me aware of what employers are looking for.
Definitely. Great course, great support, great people, great University!
I am still working at Bisca, designing luxury staircases. My role has developed into a design manager, which has brought with it even more variety, excitement, and joy to my daily life. I enjoy being part of a creative and highly skilled team and company that produces work-of-art luxury staircases.
I want to continue developing as a creative designer and leader. The standard of what we create is somehow better and better every day. I am excited to see what the future holds and this continues to fulfil and drive me. I want to continue building Bisca's success and legacy in the world of design.
