Why did you choose Teesside Uni?

I didn't have the opportunity to go to any open days or see the university before making my decision because I was living abroad. From the information I gathered online, I had a good feeling about Teesside. All I can say is I'm really happy I got the offer through UCAS clearing. Studying at Teesside was the best decision I have ever made.

What did you enjoy most about Teesside?

The product design course was better than I could have ever imagined. The design studio and workshop became my home away from home and I still daydream about that place. It was everything a design student could ask for.
I really appreciated just how much the staff care about their work and us, the students. They were always there, always ready to help and guide us.
University gave me great insight into how the design industry works in the UK. This was mostly due to the summer placement work experience and the guest lectures where designers talked about their time in the industry.

What are you doing now?

I'm a freelance designer in the luxury yacht industry, mostly yacht exterior styling. I'm living the dream thanks to Teesside University.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I'm slowly building a workshop so that I can start producing products that I design. I really enjoyed the studio-workshop balance we had in Product Design and want to recreate it.
