Teesside University offers a student placement with Cleveland Police in the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) department. This was an amazing opportunity for me and has given me the experience I need to get a job in the future.
I wanted to work towards becoming a crime scene investigator. Teesside offers a student placement with Cleveland Police’s CSI department, which was an amazing opportunity for me to gain experience.
My placement – I completed volume crime scenes and achieved many positive identifications which assists in identifying criminals so they can be arrested. I also liked the Forensic Evidence and Recovery, Crime Scene Investigation and Major Incident Investigation modules. I’m enjoying the module we’re currently doing too, which is Human Identification and Forensic Imaging.
The campus overall is great and there are plenty of food and drink services. The Library is great for studying.
Middlesbrough is a busy town with plenty of shops and restaurants surrounding the university.
Confidence, teamwork skills and time management.
I would like to graduate with a first-class honours and become a full-time crime scene investigator.
Yes – it’s local and easy to get to. I would also recommend the crime scene science course as it’s very interesting and opens up so many pathways for future careers.
Work hard to achieve the best results.
