Family festivities at Darlington

06 December 2011

Celebrate Christmas with Teesside University through an afternoon of free festive family fun at our Darlington campus.

This family event, from 2.00pm to 7.00pm on Wednesday 14 December at the University’s Darlington campus at Vicarage Lane, offers visitors an opportunity to meet Santa and tuck into a festive mince pie and hot chocolate.

Places must be booked by contacting the University’s Marketing and Student Recruitment team on 01642 342275 or email enquiries@tees.ac.uk.

The full programme includes

• 2.00pm. Festive craft activities for children. Create seasonal cards, calendars and tree decorations to add some extra special magic to your home

• 3.15pm. Nativity play and carols performed by local primary school children. And, through our tombola, help us raise much-needed funds for the local hospice

• 5.15pm. Something for the grown-ups. Join us for more festive refreshments and hear staff from our media department talk about those iconic Christmas moments in film and music.

• 5.30pm. Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings. Discussion about Frank Capra's It’s a Wonderful Life

• 5.50pm. A very Beatles’ fan Christmas

• 6.10pm. Barbarians in pyjamas. The parent-child relationship in Christmas films.

Teesside University Darlington campus director Nigel Evans said, 'This is our first Christmas at the iconic new campus and these exciting festive celebrations will offer visitors an opportunity to get into the festive Christmas spirit while finding out more the new Darlington campus.'
