An artistic debut for Julie

23 January 2012

Teesside Fine Art master’s student and former soldier Julie Macbean is staging her first exhibition at Darlington Arts Centre’s Lounge Gallery.

The free exhibition, entitled Torrent, focuses on Tees Valley landmarks, particularly steelworks and Middlesbrough’s industrial landscape and runs until Saturday 18 February.

Her work uses ink, digital images and painting. Julie, who served with the Royal Logistic Corps for 22 years, said, ‘I am grateful for the opportunity to show my work in the Lounge Gallery. Venues like this springboard up-and-coming artists onto the more established galleries.’

Torrent runs at the Lounge Gallery, Darlington Arts Centre, Vane Terrace Darlington, for more information see Darlington Arts website
