Lewis, 22, of Stockton, who graduates from the MSci (Hons) Chiropractic, is now embarking on a career as a chiropractic practitioner.

He’s also been involved in gymnastics since childhood and has represented Great Britain as part of Team GBR after qualifying for international championship events.

Lewis said: “I wanted to study at Teesside University as I was aware of its excellent reputation, especially for the healthcare courses. I chose chiropractic as being from a sports background, I had dealt with multiple healthcare practitioners when competing for GB.

“This course has been a huge help with getting me to where I want to be. With the integrated placement models and on-site clinic, it allowed me to network with other practitioners, which greatly benefited my learning journey and allowed me to develop my clinical skills.”

Lewis added: “I particularly enjoyed the junior clinic, where under the supervision of floor tutors, we had the opportunity to practice and learn from existing chiropractors and take key knowledge which I can carry forward into the profession.

“I would love to explore working within sports organisations and competitions such as the World Games and Olympics as a chiropractor.”

Lewis described his time at Teesside as “a really positive experience filled with exciting challenges and valuable learning opportunities”.

He added: “I’ve had the chance to work with a really great group of people on the chiropractic course and within the University. The staff have had a major impact on my learning and have been really accommodating especially with my studies when I have been competing for GBR. Overall, it has contributed significantly to my personal and academic growth.”
